Accessible primary healthcare Individualised health and well-being management plans
Individualised health and wellbeing management plans
Flexible appointments
Financial support for those requiring help with access to see a doctor or nurse
A professional, skilled and compassionate team to help with all your health needs
Our team works closely with each other alongside our whānau/patients to ensure every kaimahi can provide high quality continuity of care – you will get to know and work with our nurses as much as our doctors. We have a welcoming and friendly reception team, who are available to help you get the healthcare you need, answer your questions, or find someone who can!
We make it easy to enrol with us, by helping you complete the enrolment forms, and collect the required identification.
We act as your health advocate and go the extra mile for you and your whānau to ensure all your health needs are met. This includes prompt communication with specialists and allied health providers, coordination with Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Education and ACC, and any other support you need when dealing with community agencies.
Appointments That Suit You Best
All our new patients are welcomed to our whānau with an extended enrolment appointment with a nurse and a GP. After this, a coordinated management plan is developed and documented covering all your health and wider needs.
Depending on your needs and complexity of care we can offer you:
- Flexibility in timing and length of appointments
- Same day appointments for urgent problems
- Routine booked appointments within a few working days
- Triaged walk-in clinic every day
- Online and phone consultations
You can also use our patient portal to securely view your results and medical records, book appointments, request repeat prescriptions and message us.
Ta Mātou Rōpū | Our Team
Manu Ora is a collaboration between Māori health and wellness provider, Te Piki Oranga, and GPs who work in the practice. Te Piki Oranga kaimahi work alongside us, and we collaborate with them to offer a complete health and social support service to their patients.
All your Manu Ora GPs have (or are training towards) Fellowship of the Royal NZ College of GPs and have specialised in General Practice. This means we can provide you with the quality of care you deserve.
See the team making our kaupapa a reality.
Making a Difference
We’re all about making a difference – a difference for our whānau (patients), our kaimahi (team) and our hapori (community).
Award-winning Mahi
In recognition of this Manu Ora kaimahi were honoured, humbled, and incredibly proud to be the recipients of three awards at the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards 2023:
- the “New and Emerging Business of the Year Award”,
- the “Community Impact Award”, and
- the “Supreme Business Award”
Independent Evaluation
To measure the success of what we do, every couple of years we undergo professional evaluation, conducted by an external research company. Our most recent evaluation, the “Sapere Report” reported key findings such as:
“Independent evaluation reflected favourably on patient satisfaction across a wide range of metrics, including accessibility of care and manaakitanga from kaimahi.”
The evaluation concluded some vulnerable patients without access to primary care may have died if not for Manu Ora.
Lower urgent care and emergency department visits among our patients was shown.
They found “much higher levels of service” than at comparably-sized practices, noting our higher ratio of clinicians to patients: “This is a key point of difference and allows for not only longer appointment times but enables clinicians more non-patient-facing time to do vital follow-up and collaborate with other agencies working with vulnerable whānau.”
What Others Say About Us
We are honoured that many of our whānau feel so strongly about what we do that they have chosen to speak publicly about Manu Ora. We are grateful for their kupu ātaahua (beautiful words).
