Kei puta te Wairau – the hole in the clouds over Blenheim – must be letting the spotlight shine through this week! We’re humbled to announce that Manu Ora has been announced as a finalist in the prestigious New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards.

These awards “celebrate and showcase the best of the best across primary healthcare in Aotearoa.” Organisers noted a “record number of entries” in the 2025 awards, made up of “a treasure trove of innovation, excellence and downright determination.”

Manu Ora has been recognised in the “GenPro General Practice of the Year” category. Judges noted:

“This entrant stood out for a service that has been designed with focus on kaupapa Māori, pan-iwi governance, community connection, multidisciplinary comprehensive approach with focus on continuity and impact on both patients and the system. Outstanding.”

Dr Rachel says “We’re incredibly humbled to have been named a finalist. But we see this as recognition of the tremendous community collaboration behind this kaupapa. We want to say an enormous thanks to all those who have supported us. We simply couldn’t do it without you.”

Winners will be announced at the awards in Auckland on Saturday 6th September.
